| Learning Outcomes |
1. Students will be able to identify different types of safety equipment. Measures: Written exams over textbook chapters; class discussion, and demonstration . Students will be able to describe the role of a process technician in relation to safety, health, and environment. Measures: Written exams over textbook chapters, class discussion and embedded questions. 2. Students will be able to describe components of a typical plant safety, health, and environment program. Measures: Written exams over textbook chapters; class discussion and embedded questions. 3. Students will be able to list safety, health, and environment equipment used. Measures: Written exams over textbook chapters; class discussion and embedded questions. 4. Students will be able to demonstrate safety procedures used during cleaning out, isolation and repair of process equipment. | Determination of Final Grade |
DETERMINATION OF FINAL GRADE: Chapter Tests-25%, Quizzes/homework-25%, Final Exam-30%, Attendanace 20% 1. You will have 5 Major Tests and a Final Exam in this class. All tests and the exam are taken on blackboard during a specified time frame. If you miss the test and it has to be reopened, there will be an automatic deduction of 10 points. There are "NO RETAKES". If you miss "ONE" Test, your lowest current test score will be given for that test, ONLY if you missed the test due to an EXCUSED absence or a makeup test will be allowed if absence is excused per the absence policy. If you miss more than one test, you will receive a zero for each additional test you miss. If you are involved in Academic Dishonesty, you will receive a ZERO for that test. Taking the Final Exam is required to complete the course. Lab attendance and participation is required |

2. Homework assignments are to be submitted on blackboard and must be completed by due date, 20 PTS will be deducted if not submitted by due date. Homework more than a week late will not receive a grade higher than 50. 3. Cell Phone use is not permitted in the classroom or lab except during breaks. If a student is caught on their cell phone in class, the student will be asked to leave class and counted an unexcused absence for the day. 4. Students that are disruptive in class will be asked to leave and counted an unexcused absence for the day. 5. All grades will be posted on Blackboard. 6. The PTAC program has a dress code, failure to wear proper shoes and clothing will result in being sent out of class and counted absent for the day. |
